Field of view: 50 mm. Axinite-(Fe) associated with datolite. The tabular pale purple crystals are axinite-(Fe). The massive white part at the upper right is datolite.

Recovered from an axinite-(Fe) vein in basaltic tuff in an accretionary complex subjected to Prehnite-Pumpellyite facies metamorphism.

Axinite-(Fe) from this location was described in 1999.

Axinite-(Fe)

Field of view: 30 mm. A vein of axinite-(Fe) and datolite. The massive white part at the center of the vein is datolite. The thin pale purple zones at the both sides of datolite are axinite-(Fe). The green host is basaltic tuff subjected to Prehnite-Pumpellyite facies metamorphism.
