Occurrence
Manganese dioxide in interstics of conglomerate in the early Pliocene (4 Ma) Yatagawa Formation of the Tokai Group. The Tokai Group is composed of lacustrine sediments in the large freshwater lake, Lake Tokai, which had been in Tokai region.
Outcrop of conglomerate of the Yatagawa Formation associated with lithiophorite in the interstics of pebbles. The pebble at the left of the coin is covered with black lithiophorite. This conglomerate is a part of Yatagawa Formation in Tokai Group, and is composed of chert and sandstone.
