Early Holocene, Quaternary, Cenozoic (6500 years ago)
Length: 50 mm. Orange cup coral, a hermatypic coral. Branched coral fossil from rice fields When the earth was warmer than present, coral reefs were in the Tokyo Bay. Even now, small reefs were found in the Tokyo bay near Tateyama. Recovered from sediments formed under the warm shallow marine environment.
