Deep-sea tsunami

Depth of water

Mesopelagic - Abyssopelagic (200 - 5,000 m)

Circumstances

Sediments supllied to deep-sea ocean floors by large scale tsunami. Gravels are supplied by Ebb tide of tsunami from shallower area which are not supplied to deep-sea circumstances. Sand and mud flung up into seawater by tsunami deposit as homogenous thick sediments, which are called homogenite. Tsunami sediments deposit on the continental shelf.

Sedimentary facies (Sediments)

Conglomerate, and homogenite, the homogenous thick sediments composed of sand and mud.
