  • [ Etymology ] Lambert Jacob-Makoy (1790 - 1873), botanist, who observed flowering for the first time
  • The plant resembles Tillandsia tehuacana and only the leaves and the rosette shape are different. Leaves of Tillandsia tehuacana are soft and the rosette shape is columnar, whereas leaves of Tillandsia makoyana are rigid and the rosette shape is funnel-shaped.
