It flowered in November - December. The flower was red with an orange tint CMYK=(0, 80, 60, 0). The leaf turned reddish green CMYK=(0, 60, 100, 10). A single flower was produced at the growing point of the foliage. Tips of 3 petals of the tube flowers were edged and reflexed outside. The flower was L 40 - 45 mm, D 15 mm.. The tube part at the base was D 5 mm. The flower was much longer than the standard variety of Tillandsia funckiana. A flower blooms for 4 - 5 days. The stamens and the pistil protruded 10 - 15 mm and 20 mm long, respectively.
