The flowering period was 4 days in December. Bright red tube flowers with 3 petals whose tips are edged and reflexed outside. 6 red stamens and a red pistil are sticked out of petals. A single flower was produced at the growing point of the foliage. The flower was 40 mm long and was much longer than the standard variety of Tillandsia funckiana. The stamens and the pistil protruded 10 - 15 mm and 20 mm long, respectively.
