Tremolite

Field of view: 30 mm. A group of tremolite. The white fibers are tremolite. The yellowish-green grains at the center and at the lower left are grossular underlying tremolite.

Recovered from skarn formed by contact metamorphism of I-type (magnetite-series) granite associated with a caldera complex. Formed in the early Paleocene (65 Ma).

Tremolite from this location was described in 1996.
