Mordenite
Hama, Kawazu city, Kamo county, Shizuoka pref., Japan
Field of view: 50 mm. Mordenite in a vesicule. The sprays of acicular white crystals are mordenite. The brown host is tuff breccia, and the surface of vesicules is covered with green celadonite.
Recovered from an open space of tholeiitic andesitic-basaltic tuff breccia in an oceanic arc subjected to prophylitization alteration.
Mordenite from this location was described in 1995.
