Hydrozincite
Horado-Komi, Seki city, Gifu pref., Japan

Field of view: 20 mm. Hydrozincite associated with hemimorphite. The earthy white part from the center to the left is hydrozincite. The transparent crystals at the right are hemimorphite.
Recovered from an open space of a quartz vein in a meteoric oxidation zone of a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit combined with skarn formed by contact metamorphism of I-type (magnetite-series) granite associated with a caldera complex.
Hydrozincite from this location was described in 1996.
