Hemimorphite

Field of view: 15 mm. A reniform blue group of hemimorphite. The brown host at the bottom is limonite.
Recovered from a meteoric oxidation zone of a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit combined with skarn formed by contact metamorphism of I-type (magnetite-series) quartz porphyry.
Hemimorphite from this location was described in 1895.

Field of view: 20 mm. The reniform white group of hemimorphite. The brown parts are the host garnet skarn.
