Field of view: 10 mm. Aggregate of ferro-actinolite. The fibrous grayish-green crystals are ferro-actinolite. The light brown parts are limonite formed by weathering.
Recovered from skarn formed by contact metamorphism of S-type (ilmenite-series) granite of a caldera complex with a moderate-temperature hydrothermal deposit associated with the same caldera complex. Formed in the middle Paleocene (60 Ma).
Ferro-actinolite from this location was described in 1983.
