Source for Cobalt
Field of view: 5 mm. Cobaltite associated with rhodonite. The massive reddish-silver grain with a metallic luster is cobaltite. The surrounding transparent parts are quartz, and the pink parts are rhodonite.
Recovered from a bedded manganese deposit in pelitic schist subjected to Amphibolite facies regional metamorphism and contact metamorphism by granodiorite.
Cobaltite from this location was described in 1961.
