Reductively altered Serpentinite
Reductive alteration + Serpentinization
Required Geological Setting
Occurrence
Native element and alloy minerals formed by reaction of magnetite in serpentinite with reductive and hyperalkaline fluids produced by serpentinization. The passes of this reductive fluids are oberved as veins in serpentinite, and iron and Fe-Ni alloys are produced in the veins. Iron and Fe-Ni alloys exhibit rounded shape.
Distribution of Reductively altered Serpentinite described in this site. Yellow is distribution of high-P metamorphic rocks and serpentine mélange.
