Pumpellyite-(Al)
Higashi-chichibu city, Chichibu county, Saitama pref., Japan
Field of view: 5 mm. Crystals of pumpellyite-(Al). The acicular grayish-green crystals are pumpellyite-(Al). The pale brown grains are dirt.
Recovered from an open space of a pumpellyite-(Al) in gabbro subjected to Pumpellyite-Actinolite facies metamorphism. Formed in the Late Cretaceous (100 Ma).
The first pumpellyite-Al from Japan was reported from this location in 1936.
