Hydromagnesite

Field of view: 15 mm. Groups of hydromagnesite. The radial groups of platy white crystals are hydromagnesite. The photograph is the surface along the hydromagnesite vein in serpentinite.

Recovered from a hydromagnesite vein in a meteoric oxidation zone of serpentinite in an accretionary complex subjected to Greenschist facies high-pressure metamorphism.
