Asemi river
Uriuno, Motoyama city, nagaoka county, Kochi pref., Japan
Field of view: 30 mm. Actinolite associated with minor amount of talc. The green prisms are actinolite. The micaceous silver crystals in the interstices of actinolite are talc.
Recovered from an actinolite nodule in pelitic schist formed by high-pressure regional metamorphism. Formed in the Late Cretaceous (100 Ma).
It is considered that this actinolite nodule was formed from sedimentary serpentinite block in pelitic rocks by high-P metamorphism.
Actinolite from this location was described in 1907.
