The blooming period is 23 days in maximum from December to March. White tube flower with 3 petals whose tips are edged and closed. Petals of standard Tillandsia variabilis are purple. The petals were 15 mm long, and the diameter of the tube flower was 2 mm. The pistil and the stamens protruded 9 mm and 3 - 8 mm, respectively. A flower blooms only for a day. 6 - 10 flowers are opened from the bottom side of the flower spike. The flowering interval is a day at first, and it becomes gradually longer up to 8 days in the longest case. Flowers bloom from the top side branch of the inflorescence.
