A red inflorescence grows at the growing point of the foliage. The lower part of the inflorescence twists spirally (polystichous) reflecting the inflorescence of Tillandsia pohliana, whereas the upper part of it is flat (distichous) reflecting the inflorescence of Tillandsia didisticha. The hybrid species often show this character. Inflorescence were 110 - 170 mm long, where main spikes were 50 - 70 mm long and a side spike was 30 mm long.
