Nohi Rhyolites Kawata et al., 1961
Re-defined based on volcanic sequences by Koido (1991)
A sequence is composed of the following processes: formation of collapse basin, deposition of volcanic clastic rocks, eruption of large-scale pyroclastic flow, and intrusion of granite prophyry.
- Lithofacies: Pyroclastic flow deposit
- Lithofacies: Rhyolite welded tuff
- Thickness (Upper): 1,500 m or thicker
- Thickness (Middle): ca. 2,000 m
- Thickness (Lower): 1,000 m or thicker
- Distribution (Width): 20 - 50 km
- Distribution (Length): ca. 130 km
- Distribution: 5,000 km2
- Upper limit: Unconformity (Eboshi Volcanic Rocks, Ryugamine Volcanic Rocks, Sencho Lava, Terrace Deposits, Matsubara Gravel Bed, Suzurankogen Basalt, Yugamine Dacite, Takigoshi Formation, Olivine basalt)
- Lower limit: Unconformity (Mitarai Formation, Kawamata Tonalite)
