Nohi Rhyolites Kawata et al., 1961

Re-defined based on volcanic sequences by Koido (1991)

A sequence is composed of the following processes: formation of collapse basin, deposition of volcanic clastic rocks, eruption of large-scale pyroclastic flow, and intrusion of granite prophyry.

• Intruded by: Shirakawa Granite, Hagiwara Granodiorite Porphyry, Suzurankogen Basalt, Naegi-Agematsu Granite, Granite porphyry dikes, Quartz porphyry, Dacite dikes, Hornblende andesite dikes, Augite andesite dikes

• Lithofacies: Pyroclastic flow deposit
• Lithofacies: Rhyolite welded tuff

• Thickness (Upper): 1,500 m or thicker
• Thickness (Middle): ca. 2,000 m
• Thickness (Lower): 1,000 m or thicker
• Distribution (Width): 20 - 50 km
• Distribution (Length): ca. 130 km
• Distribution: 5,000 km²
• Upper limit: Unconformity (Eboshi Volcanic Rocks, Ryugamine Volcanic Rocks, Sencho Lava, Terrace Deposits, Matsubara Gravel Bed, Suzurankogen Basalt, Yugamine Dacite, Takigoshi Formation, Olivine basalt)
• Lower limit: Unconformity (Mitarai Formation, Kawamata Tonalite)
