- Sedimentary structures: Planar cross-stratification
- Thickness: 150 m or thicker
- Upper limit: Conformity (Negishi Formation)
- Upper limit: Lithofacies boundary (around 15.0 Ma)
- Lower limit: Unconformity (Ichinokawa Formation)
- Lower limit: Niwaya Unconformity (15.4 - 15.1 Ma)
