Occurrence
High-temperature zeolite facies metamorphic rocks
Zeolites in vesicules of basalt lava of middle Miocene (15.5 - 15.0 Ma) Nagane Formation. Margins of each basalt lava flow are composed of hyaloclastite and pillow lava, which suggests eruption under submarine circumstance.
Outcrop of basaltic pillow lava of Nagane Formation. The dark green host is a part of basaltic pillow lava, and small holes are visicules. The bluish-white crystal at the center of the photograph is apophyllite. Zeolites are in both visicules and cracks.
