Etymology: Tsunashiro Wada (1856-1920), the first Japanese mineralogist who learned modern mineralogy from German geologist Heinrich Edmund Naumann (1854-1927). He is the first director of the Geological Survey of Japan. Naumann is the etymology of an ancient Asian elephant, Elephas (Palaeoloxodon) naumanni.
