Locations

Bay windows with good ventilation. Species which need better ventilations and/or cooler climate are hanged directly from the ceiling or in hanging baskets made of coarse rattan or bamboo. Other species are set on shelves with good ventilaton. Bay windows are opened as long as we can.

Light

Foliages are placed in the sun to partial shade or dappled sun under trees.

Soaking

Foliages are dipped once or twice a month in the daytime in pooled water using washtubs and buckets for 3 - 4 hours. Soaking longer than 6 hours may cause serious trouble and must be avoided. Foliages are taken out of the water until the evening, and dry them by draft from an electric fan for a while. During a wet season, turn foliages upside down and shake them to remove excess water on the bottom of foliages.

Fertilizing

1,000 fold diluted liquid fertilizer is mixed in the water for soaking.
