Potting


Lowest ventilation condition

Plant in a plastic or unglazed pot.


[ Pot ] Plastic or unglazed pots. Plastic pots keep the plant wet longer than unglazed pots.

[ Potting soil ] Sphagnum moss, bark chips, or pumice grains. Sphagnum moss has the highest ability of holding water, and pumice grains have the lowest ability.

[ Location ] Locations with a good ventilation as much as possible and apart from the ground surface for some extent by using racks or slotted floors.


[ Important points ]

Avoid to place pots directly on such floors as concrete because pots can be heated by high temperature floor in summer and by the reflected heat of the sun.
