Tsuchidaru Mine
Tsuchidaru, Yuzawa city, Minami-Uonuma county, Niigata pref., Japan
Occurrence
Serpentinite-hosted pneumatolytic-skarn deposit formed by the Miocene quartz porphyry and rhyolite dyke intruded in Miocene Matsukawa Formation and Tanigawadake body, a serpentinite block of Joetsu Belt. The quartz porphyry and rhyolite dykes are associated with Tanigawa Body, a Miocene quartz diorite, by which the deposit has been subjected to contact metamorphism. Approximately 2km apart from the quartz diorite dike, and less than 1 km apart from Tanigawa Body. Carbonate-mineral veins formed by oxidation of the serpentinite corresponds to limestone of skarn.
